DRIVING TO QUEBEC

Thursday, September 19

Today was a travel day to Quebec.  Ron and Sherry Darrah, Earl and Eunice Seymore and Jenna and I all left the park and made the trip together.  We made several stops to admire the St. Lawrence River and to have lunch.  Our route pretty much followed the St. Lawrence.

We drove through many smallriver-towns

and saw lots of quaint homes as well as hugh mansions that lined the river.   The foliage is beginning to turn more as we journey north.  We saw lots of orange, red, and yellow scattered among the sea of green.

Hopefully as we move on to New Hampshire next week we will see even more color.

We stopped for lunch in Trois-Rivieres - I think that means Three Rivers - at a Tim Horton's.
We parked across the street at a Wal-Mart - it looked like an Adventure Caravan convention was going on in that parking lot.  There were 10 rigs parked there as most of our group stopped for lunch.

Tim Horton's is a  cross between Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts.  They serve paninis and wraps at lunch in a lunch combo with a donut and drink rather than fries and a drink.  Again everything was in French,  but they called a young lady who spoke English to wait on our group.  There was a ton of construction
on the way here.

Our favorite construction sign.  It means The End.

The 182 mile trip took about 7 hours mainly due to construction delays and the fact that we could only drive 30-40 mph most of the way.

Most of this blog will be pictures since we didn't really see or do anything but drive today.  Tomorrow is a full day of touring Quebec City.  Until then,  Happy Trails.

        Welcome to Quebec.
